24th Annual
A Taste of Hilo
Online Silent Auction
Sun., Oct. 16 – Thurs., Oct. 29, 2022
We thought in 2020 we saw a record year for our silent auction, but the unwavering support of our community far and wide rolled in strongly in 2021 completely knocking that record off its socks!
With that we were not only able to donate our goal of $10,000 but we were able to include an additional $5,000 to further support Hawaii Community College after a $5,000 donation in 2020.
Saying thank you really isn’t enough to show all of our sponsors, donors, and community supporters the appreciation we have to have had the success we did.
We call upon you all again as we focus on another online auction event and seek to donate another $10,000 this year to Hawaii Community College and support the educational and workforce efforts they put out into our community.
See you on the bidding battlefield!
Started in 1998, the annual A Taste of Hilo showcases more than 30 of the island’s tastemakers and beverage purveyors. Attendees enjoy sweet and savory delights created by chefs, restaurants and patisseries, and sample locally crafted beer, wine and sake.
The event is a great way to taste flavors and ingredients unique to the islands. Each year, a different local ingredient is featured. Other local products featured at A Taste of Hilo have included Big Island Abalone, sturgeon, pasture-raised beef, kampachi and blue fin tuna.
Taste of Hilo is a fundraiser for the Hawai‘i Community College culinary program. Over the years, the Chamber has donated to HawCC for scholarships, facility improvements and program development. Culinary students participate by hosting a food station.
