23rd Annual
A Taste of Hilo

Online Silent Auction
Sunday, Oct. 17 – Wednesday Nov. 6, 2021

2021 we celebrate 23 years of A Taste of Hilo event. For the second year, we held an online silent auction event in place of an in person event and what a record year in the books it turned out to be for us. Many, many thanks to our sponsors, donors, and community supporters for making it such a great success!! Amidst the pandemic, the challenges it brought, it too bestowed blessings and this year’s event a testament to that. Last year we were able to donate $5,000 to Hawaii Community College, this year we look forward to making another generous donation to our recipient. MAHALO ALL!!

Mahalo to Our Sponsors!

Started in 1998, the annual A Taste of Hilo showcases more than 30 of the island’s tastemakers and beverage purveyors. Attendees enjoy sweet and savory delights created by chefs, restaurants and patisseries, and sample locally crafted beer, wine and sake.

The event is a great way to taste flavors and ingredients unique to the islands. Each year, a different local ingredient is featured. Other local products featured at A Taste of Hilo have included Big Island Abalone, sturgeon, pasture-raised beef, kampachi and blue fin tuna.

Taste of Hilo is a fundraiser for the Hawai‘i Community College culinary program. Over the years, the Chamber has donated to HawCC for scholarships, facility improvements and program development. Culinary students participate by hosting a food station.
